Oh, now I´ve seen the button- quite simple!
This is a paddle engine I bought from a CNC manufacturer who made 5 of them. Because he fell sick, I got no more informations about it. Is it made according to a plan or a free invention. Engine ist made of steel.
Has anyone a good idea how to protect these steel parts? For the first moment I took weapons oil on it, but maybe, when I will retire in about 12 years, I will unfit all the parts and polish them. Is there a galvanic surface, looking like the steel?
My own engine I made for the DIESSEN steamer, therefore I made of inox steel, which I would have preferred, but he did not want to make an extra for me.
Cylinders are looking like casting, but all the parts were CNC made.

That looks very like a design by Edgar T Westbury- his 'diagonal paddle engine' someone who knows more about his designs could confirm this - but I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

Hi,

Hi,
I drew these up to check the dims a while back, and am at present tidying them up at the request of Kirk, to build with his new CNC mill.
As soon as I have the drawings and individual .DXF files for each part done, I will post on the Paddleducks download section for all to use. Hopefully before the end of the month.
cheers

Andy,
Given the information you posted, it's almost certain to be one of the engines Frank ("jimmy bondi") made. I'm sorry to hear that he is ill, but that explains why all of his photos have disappeared from the build thread.
I would love to see more photos with larger dimensions as the scans of the magazine articles are quite dark.
Thanks for posting
Kirk

Ah, ok, then maybe I know something more, but I did not know that he is Jimmibondi.
he sold these engine to me- I think he made 6 or 7. Then I paid and nothing came. Calling him, he told me, that he was moving to another home the moment, car was damaged and TELCOM was not able to switch phone and web (very well known in Germany). Then, end of january, my lawyer wrote to him and his wife, then she organized the shipping and called me and told me, that he is in the hospital. So there was some trouble around this nice engine, but I also think, I can forget and I asked his wife to bring him my best wishes and for his health.
Next time I can take better pictures in the daylight.
