Staying on line!

For those of you that live in the part of the world known as Northern Europe or the Americas - even the Antipodes, count yourself lucky.
Last night my internet and phone connection started to become intermittent - so this morning I phoned OTE (the Greek telephone provider). A very nice man listened to my problem and then using a mobile phone guided me through the process of restoring communication. Only in Greece (the country I love) would someone from the phone company tell you which pole to climb and which wires to strip, clean and reconnect!
So I now have a reliable connection till next time.
So before you shout and scream at your ISP next time you have a problem bear in mind that at least they won't LITERALLY send you up the pole!

PS There used to be a TV show called "Green Acres" in which they had to climb a pole to make a phone call.

Unfortunately no photos - it was blowing a gale, very gloomy and my beautiful assistant was tool handling and ladder holding. As we are the only people living this end of the island in the winter the event was, sadly, unrecorded!

Yes having someone doing tool handling and most important holding the ladder in a gale is certainly better than taking photos especially if you are the one on the ladder.

Right now Its the coldest day so far of the winter season, with the wind chill -19 C. I would live to pop over, but the family treasurer says no, darn.
