« on: January 03, 2010, 01:44:26 PM »
hi all,,i have a general interest in doing anything creative,,and have always liked playing around with models,,have built a couple of r/c yachts,,and would love to eventually build a steam powered paddle steamer,,i currently live in a small town in the dandenongs, but i am looking toward moving soon to live on the murray river,,or near it.
I am a sheetmetal worker by trade,,but have also had a lot of experience working with carbon fibre and do a bit of fitting and turning as well.
at the moment i gain a bit of extra money making unique products out of wood,,and still do a bit of welding, mainly stainless steel.
ive read some of the posts,,and note theres a number of other aussies here,so now theres another,,be nice to get to know all of you no matter where from, and thank you for accepting me,,regards,,dan

Hi Dan and welcome to Paddleducks,
My Dad used to say he was a JOAT Jake of All Trades, and that it was a proud family tradition. It also made the bosses reluctant to let you go when things slowed down.
Regards,
Gerald.
Be wary of strong drink. It can make you shoot at tax collectors--and miss. Lazarus Long

Welcome Dan,anybody who wants to venture to the Murray River BEWARE ,if that murray mud gets in your vains, your buggared. If you need any info on any of the boat on the Murray/Darling Rivers don't hesitate to ask.At Morgan Museum we have a expanding wealth of knowledge and are very happy to share, best part, no cost. There are several copies of working scale drawing available,so feel free to ask. Enjoy the river, my friend. Chloes mate
