Hi PDs!

This year has been a satisfying one for some and - perhaps - not so pleasant for others.
I am 2 hours ahead of you here so I get to celebrate mine first!

I would like to wish ALL OF YOU A VERY VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR, and thank you for being a great bunch of people that have really enhanced my move here and kept me firmly where I should be - In my 'Man Cave' or workshop.

Have a good one and I hope you get everything that you wish for in the coming year (Unfortunately it would appear that Scarlet Johannson is already spoken for).

I for one am hoping that 2010 is a damned sight better than 2008 and 2009 were! It couldn't possibly be any worse!!

Now I'm not in anyway superstitious but....
This eve is a blue moon (second full moon in  a month)
There is a partial eclipse at the moment,
The CRSC calendar i have just been given has Jupiter as the January picture ....
Could be a good year for model boating  or .......as I'm more cynical than superstitious.... is one or all my models doomed ?
 
Will get back to you this tim next year...

I've already had a sinking this year and have now taken to filling my models with ping pong balls.

Just in from walking home and the snow covered fields are indeed blue in the light of the moon.

Hi PD's....& that is a very interesting calender posting of Waverley rounding the channel markers which are clearly visable djcf ....

Mind you.... in OZ many years ago the inland river systems were no wider than say x 10 of the vessels beam.....& the only markers were submerged red gums that had fallen into the water  .......Derek

Andy, my dad's Jupiter has several areas filled with expanding foam ..just in case. i believe she has rolled once before probably a result of the sponson voids filling with water ... Also the Saint Columba had a very near sinking earlier last year (09) ..... maybe it's good times ahead

As your probably aware I teach Powerboating and occasionally use the North Chanel (pic in Clark's post) at night for Night Navigation on our Advanced courses.... A bit nerve racking at night at speed with no light marks ....

Woke up this mornng to see my front gates pulled from the wall and slung down the drive.  Must have been something special last night while I was asleep.

Hello all, may we too wish one and all a very Happy New Year. It was a good Hogmanay party last night and the children enjoyed it too, their first time for "seeing in the New Year" with plenty of good company in the village hall. Seven families consisting of 23 adults and 29 children! With disco music from the eighties to bring back our generations teenage years and bring out some outrageous dancing from the parents to embarrass the kids. All in all it bodes well for the year ahead.

Happy New Year to everyone.
We don't have the snow like Jim shows, we are getting big fluffy flakes as I type this, and the chickadees are enjoying a loaf of stale bread I put in the front yard tree. As usual some body had to play silly bugger last night, my string of new solar Christmas lights I had but in the tree are smashed. I think I may be able to salvage the solar panel, but it sure is irritating.
