Destination Boards

Hi All,
At the risk of sounding a little Lazy  - is there any chance you guys could help with a bit of info on the following boats and typical destination board info.
Unfortunately time is a little short here to be researching this subject.
I  know that some of you can recite the info from memory and this would be a real help to me. Maybe of interest to others as well?

Mercury - 1934 - 35 seasons
Caledonia - 1934 seasons
Marchioness of Lorne - 1935 - 36 season
Jeanie Deans - 1945 - 65 seasons

Some Mercury routes 1934

Princes Pier - Gourock - Kirn - Dunoon - Wemyss Bay - Innellan - Craigmore - Rothesay & return

Wemyss Bay - Largs - Keppel - Millport

Rothesay - Wemyss Bay

I think Mercury & Caledonia both did Rothesay-Princes Pier & cruises to the Kyles as far as Auchenlochan

 I just happened to have a book lying about detailing some sailings for these two in 1934 when they were new        !!!

Derek an interesting book you have there - unfortunately its the later Mercury I'm researching at the moment -  although the older one maybe a project further down the line.
Another project at the moment might just send my wife over the edge.

If it helps understand my reason for shortness of time and all the late nights -
Currently i have 3 Hull plugs in various states of assemby and another 2 in the pipeline and when I'm not sanding or freezing outside I'm frantically drawing various components on the computer... All this and a deadline of 4th January ....  if i manage to get a spare min then i can allways fill it with getting the big Talisman started again...... and this is supposed to be a relaxing Hobie

Kim, Articles re Mercury/Caledonia & MoL are in "Clyde Steamers " mags No 20 Autumn 1984 & no 16 Autumn 1980 respectively.
These go into a bit more detail...if you can't find copies let me know

Derek, the older Mercury is a fine looking paddler.....and Kim, surely One more project would be ok, after all, she wouldn't be too much longer than "Talisman"

Jeanie Deans - what livery are you doing her in?
LNER - 1945-1947
BR - initially with black dining saloon windows, later white
The Wheelhouse was installed in 1948

From 1948 she had calls at Gourock included, from 1953 the round Bute cruise was started.
I think 1945/6-1952 she did Craigendoran-Dunoon-Innellan-Rothesay, with afternoon salings extended to Tighnabruiach, possibly Kilcreggan and Kirn calls on some sailings. Craigmore had been closed after the war

Just dug out my CSP timetables from 1950 onwards.
The Round Bute cruise had started by 1950, she sailed at 1210 for KIlcreggan, , Gourock, KIrn, Dunoon, Innellan, Rothesay and a cruise round Bute.
She would also have done the 0845 from Craigendoran direct to Dunoon and Rothesay, returning at 1015 and also calling at Innellan and Kilcreggan, connecting at Dunoon with Waverkey for Lochgoilhead and Arrochar
The round Bute cruise did not run on Saturdays or Sundays, on Saturdays she would have been a back up steamer on Gourock-Dunoon or Wemyss Bay-Rothesay

On Sundays she or Waverley did a variety of afternoon cruises to Glenan Bay (Loch Fyne), Tarbert (Loch Fyne), round Bute and Cumbrae, or to Skipness, all starting at 1235, with a call at Helenbsurgh when tide permitted, then Dunoon, Innellan and Rothesay

Regarding the Jeanie I haven't decided just yet on a year / period to builder her but appreciate the infor all the same.
