Hi from Paris
« on: December 06, 2009, 09:11:18 AM »
Hello Sirs

Thanks to let me introduce myself.
I'am 49 old, married with a violin player and together we have a 14 old kid...
I'm originaly Cabinet maker, Violin and bow maker but I stopped theses jobs in 1987 for a (poor) Golf player and teacher carrier.
My best remembers about this period is a fabulous game, in 1991, at the training games for Open de France with Rafferty, Mc Nulty, Torrance and Faldo.
In fact I remember the very large glass of beer (and many..) before the run and the fantastic lesson I received on the grass.... I understand too that my place was not exactly on the UE Tour.....

From October 1991 I worked for Sega Ltd (London) Canal Plus, Brandt and now in a Kitchen maker.
My interest for model was very old, in fact I cannot remember exactly, since I was born wit a blue print in my hands....

I  made a large quantity of models, Riva, Australia2, Requin, Sea Wolf, Monte Carlo, Coligny (a Paddle duck), unfortabily, some of theses models was lost and never follow myself.

At yet I built a Glasgow, from a Graupner Kit and i try to made by myself the engine. an horizontal oscilating engine following a Bernard Retif Blue print. I'll post some view from the book asap.
The masters for Cylinder are on a good way . In the same time I make a double oscilating engine from JP Duval blue print and a AL5 (from Lecomte)
It's not easily, My machines are amateur's machines and I meet days of despair in front of difficulties. But the friends are always there to cheer up and give me the strength to continue.

My next boat project is to make another Coligny, a Paddleduck used between La Rochelle and Isle de Re at the end of the XIX for passengers. ( I'm a Island man from this Island). In the same way I built, only during vacation a "Mouette" (Seagull) but I'm not in my Island home because my job is in Paris and I have only some days/year for built this model.

Thanks for your web forum, apologies for my english, hope you can understand.

Renard (Laurent).

PS In 2001, I was in discuss with Microsoft for a Job in London,  Because of the events of the WTC, the project was delayed, and my heart never has accept it., because, I'm in love with London and UK Peoples.
