I think Andy might have something to say about that when he comes to transport the model up to Scotland Ken! :hehe

Kim, sadly the batteries are in a separate box, so that's not an excuse for a quick peek either :(

Fantastic news Stuart! ;D Hope your own journey to the UK goes as smoothly. Look forward to seeing you on the 19th.

I'm getting very nervous at taking possession of this masterpiece but it will make a fantastic present to myself for my 65th birthday which is on the 20th September!

Andy & Stuart,

You'll be pleased to know that I've been over to Darlington where the model is stored. I took the top off the shipping crate, as Stuart asked, to check it over and remove some packing. And it appears to be in excellent condition, no obvious damage anywhere.....

Pretty amazing considering it's just done a journey from Greece!

Well guys, only nine and a half weeks to go until the big day.... I hope your all getting the final touches done to your models? No point leaving things until the last minute and then finding a problem!

Come on, lets make this the biggest and best Paddler Day yet!!  :trophy

Regards
Eddy

P.S. Don't forget the Bring & Buy stall if you have anything you'd like to sell - It doesn't have to be paddler related.... 10% comission payable by the seller on all successful sales.

We're down to only 6 weeks until the big day now, so not long to go!  :a102 :06

Time for Walter and me to start pressganging our club members for volunteers with the setup :)

Hi PD's,

i will tell you all a sad news, after three times at the Darlington paddler day this time i can't come i am so sorry but i hope you will understand it.

As most of you know i am working for the Sauber Formula1 Team, a few weeks a go Mr. Sauber told us there will be a visitor day in our factory very unusual for an F1 Team. The sad thing is the date, 18.th. of September and as a saying goes in Germany, i can not dance on every wedding. So i had to decide where to go and i chose the visitor day because i like to show my workplace and everything around to my girlfriend and some other friends. One problem is, this visitorday was normally every second year but i these days who knows what will be in two years.

Please don't blame me for my decision, i will be back next Year.

Hans told me a few weeks ago that he couldn't come to this years Paddler Day - He will be greatly missed!!

Over the years Hans and I have become very good friends and we try to meet up whenever he comes to the UK.

But next year I hope we'll see Hans and his girlfriend Beate both sailing their models on the lake.... Beate has been building her own paddler, so there's no excuse now :)

Only two weeks to go until Paddler Day 2010

So if your coming along to the show, please remember to tell your fellow clubmates about it. Maybe post something on your club noticeboard? Not everyone has internet access, so please tell them that the event is on!

The more the merrier, but remember that it's paddlers only on the water, apart from maybe the last hour when we generally allow anything to sail.

Lets make this the biggest and best Paddler Day yet!

Eddy

Can I just remind everyone that there will be a "Bring & Buy" stall in operation, so if you have any stuff you want to get rid of please bring it along - 10% comission payable by the seller on all succesful sales.

It doesn't have to be paddler related, or even model stuff - If you think someone might be interested, bring it along!

I know already that there will be a few tugs for sale, a German Schnellboot, and a trawler....

Hi Eddy,

as you know Daniel didn't come to the Paddlerday so the best customer of the last two Years isn't there ;), you have to fine another one who will buy these models.

regards Hans

I'm sure there will still be buyers Hans - Only they will be purchasing in Pounds Sterling, instead of Euros :)

Having said that, Stuart Badger will be with us, so maybe there will be some Euros flying around? :hehe
