kits by installments

Just spotted this web site, seems a variation on the dire rip-off partwork theme, which is a very expensive way to buy a kit. This seems a fresh approach.

The price for the kits seems very resonable but increases slightly for installments. Since Artesania Latinia do a Mississippi stern wheeler I wonder if that will be added to the range.

Hi Daryl, I see what you mean. That is an expensive way to build any ship and even more so for a static model. There must be a demand for them though as they continue to lead that particular market.

cheers

Hi Jim,
As I remeber the same firm Deaggostini started a web site a few months ago for a MaClaren F1 car partwork, HMS Victory partwork and a model railway village. All of a sudden it vanished and looked to me as if they were testing the water so to speak to see if any of them were commercially viable. Apparently those who subscribed were left high and dry when they pulled the plug.

I wonder if this is a new venture or another test marketing exercise, for all we know they could well call a halt to this if there is little interest and then where will those who decide to buy in installments be? will Artesania Latinia sell them the rest of the bits to finish the kit. I doupt it.

As allways it's buyer beware!!

And looking around the net the installment plans they have on there are very expensive when compaired to other retail outlets where you buy the kit in one go.

Hello,

For anyone who bought McLaren, Victory or Railway, they were offered a full refund. Modelspace is a national launch, this is not a test. We will supply you with all of the parts you need to complete the ship.

We feel the pricing is very competitive too, remember there's 10% discount off the tools and a monthly electronic magazine included in the pricing.

The Mississippi should be available soon.

Many thanks
