STERNWHEELER HULL
« on: June 26, 2009, 07:52:57 PM »
Greetings all, does anybody know of any commercially made sternwheeler hulls. The original I want to model was 106ft long by 18ft wide so at 1:24 I would ideally like to find  a glass hull about 52 to 56ins long. The design was apparently used on the Nile and Zambesi rivers but as I am only going to do semi-scale I am not too fussy about details. Thanks, Ian.

The only commercially available sternwheeler hull I know of is for the Chaperon, but that is only about 36" in length...

So I think it will be a case of building your own. Fortunately most sternwheeler hulls are fairly simple things, so it shouldn't present too much difficulty.

Loyalhanna / Hartman Model Boats offers 2 versions of a 1/50 Delta Queen hull.  I've been told they plan to offer several other paddler kits in the future.
