I was just wondering what sort of tunout in model numbers is expected at this year's Paddler Day - any one got any idea yet?

It's really impossible to say Stuart, but if half the people come that have said they will, I would expect about 60 models - Depends on the weather of course :(

Why, were you thinking of a trip over from Greece?

It would be fantastic if you could make it Stuart - We'd certainly find you something to sail if you came, so you wouldn't be left there twiddling your thumbs, well okay you would be...... But you'd be twiddling a transmitter! :hehe

You'd almost certainly be our furthest travelled participant - About twice as far as Hans, Joerg, and Daniel from Switzerland and Germany :)

Bear in mind that's a guess, but based on the last two years, I don't think I'll be far off.... In 2007 we had about 35 models, 2008 saw almost 50, and the response so far for 2009 indicates we'll beat last years figure again...

We do hire the village community centre for the day, so there are hot and cold sandwiches, tea/coffee etc - And of course somewhere to display models and get out of the rain if the worst happens!

I did have a word with the guy upstairs about the weather, but haven't had a reply so far :hehe

I'd like to attend of course!

It really is a case of whether I can raise the money and maybe use the trip to do other things as well (getting some more materials would be good!).

If I do come I promise I will use my baggage allowance to bring some sunshine in a case!

Hello all, been contemplating coming down to the last two shows and for various reasons was not able to attend either. Made myself a promise that this year I should do it but alas there is an important trade show on the very same weekend here in Shetland and thus this precludes my excursion this time too. Maybe next year when it'll be even bigger and better.

cheers

Jim

That's bad news Jim..... Get the weekend booked for 2010 - If you come up with any more excuses I'll drive up to the Shetlands and kidnap you, so you have to attend!! :hehe
