                   ;)
I'm back.

Had a great time at the ModelBoat Mayhem Bash. Sailed both of my Paddlers with no trouble at all.  :D

There was another Paddler there and I got chatting to the guy. I think his name was 'Sid' and he has built a paddler and called it 'Mary Rose' (see pic). It is entirely scratch built from wood and he says it didn't cost him much more than £50. ( compares favourably with my build of over £900 !!)

I had the Waverley on my little stand and was busy demonstrating the smoking funnels all day. It gathered the interested people around and kept me busy through out. I had to use the transmitter to control her so eventually the battery went flat. I'll have figure out an extra control system to bypass the radio if I'm to do that again.

I found she drives rather sedately, so I'm thinking of changing the gearbox ratio down from 50/1 to 25/1. The steerage was rather poor unless she was at full speed.  I'll see if the captain can go water skiing for the Paddleducks Bash.   8)

Anyway, here's some picures.  (extra one added. Was taken by Mayhem)

added info ....

I have since found out that the Guy who built the Mary Rose is called "Tom Askham" and he goes to the Wickstead Boat club. My appologies for getting his name wrong, and I hope he joins paddleducks as recommended.

Thank you Talisman. I sure am getting around these days. Love the hobby and talking to like minded people. My appearance in Model Boats has brought me more friends and people interested in making their own craft of all sorts. I'm beginning to wish I'd started earlier in life.  ;)
