Hello all, a lot off topic as this totally going to be the way forward . Island Constructor visits Shetland en-route to Foinaven Oil Field. As it was alongside the quay which I can see from our quay at work then on the way South on Saturday the ship passed within video distance of my house in a good sea state to make it interesting so on youtube there are a couple of vids if you want to view them.

A fascinating ship Jim - I found another couple of images on the web that might show it off a bit better.... It would certainly make an interesting model, even thought it doesn't have paddles! :hehe

Hello all, Eddy the second attache dpic in the orignal post  gives a beer idea of sccale as she lies  alongside Holmsgarth 5 quay. At 136 x 26M it is a large ship by any standard. Over on the www.modeltug.com forum one of the members is well under way on building an X-bow ship. It will be interesting to see if his model will act like the videos posted above.

cheers

Jim
