Disconnecting compound paddle engine
« on: May 28, 2005, 02:16:11 AM »
I thought this may be of some interest to anyone contemplating a paddler using a diagonal steam engine.

This engraving shows the disconnecting compound paddle engines from the tug "Mount Etna".

The article was taken from Engineering magazine, dated may 28th 1880, and the engines were built by Messrs Rankin and Blackmore, Greenock.

Blessed are the "cracked" -for they let in the light for the rest of us.
