Here's an article on building a lovely looking sternwheeler called the Bertrand.  I'll get Walter to dig out the magazines that continue the build next week...

Glen Hensley is a good frien of mine. he has built some increatible looking models through the years including several paddle wheelers.

The magazines that the articles came from were supplied by Walter Snowdon - I'll have a word with him on wednesday and see if I can get hold of the rest to scan Jim.

It may be a week or so, but hopefully we can get the whole article posted.

By luck I also know Alan Bates, the marine architech who drew the plans. He has a lot of great plans. He lives in Louisville. Kentucky and I sent him an email about your request. Here's what his reply was....
The drawings of the Bertrand are available from both Loyalhanna and me.
The cost is $22.00 plus postage from me.  Shipping would add another $18.00 to $20.00.  The drawings are also available from Harhaus Modelltechnik at Lohsiepenstrasse 6, 42369 Wuppertal, GERMANY.  That could save some postage charges and speed up delivery.

A great set of articles on the Bertrand, that has inspired me to send away for a set of the plans. That's at least a dozen "must build" paddlers inspired by Paddleducks on my "to do" list now.

I now have about twenty years of producing paddlers of different shapes and sizes lined up in front of me. Sheer bliss!!!

Looking forward to the balance of the Bertrand posts.

Thanks Tony - Your "to do" list sounds just like mine! :-)

It will be a few weeks before the Bertrand articles are uploaded. Walter is away on holiday, and he has the rest of the magazines I need to scan. So don't think I've forgotten about it, it will just take a little while....

I've had a lot of problems at home over the last few weeks that I won't bore you with, so progress on the Suter has been a lot slower than I would have liked - However, I have made progress, and I hope to do an update in the next few days.
