My New Workshop

Hi PD's,

the new Year starts very good for me, in the next few day's i can move into my new work shop. The room is in the same house as my flat and the old workshop. The new one is a bit smaller but to heat the old one is to expensive, because the old one is in an half timbered house about 170 years old without any heat insulation and with old windows, so it is bl+++y cold in there.

Today have started with the painting of the walls and the ceiling and will complete it tomorrow and then i can move in, the size is 5.30m * 4.00m with central heating and i pay half the price as for the old one

Such a tidy workshop so far.  How about posting a few photos once you are set up with tools, benches and models.

It looks good Hans - I wish I had something like that! I have to make do with building in the kitchen.... Thank god for an understanding wife!

Nice looking room-shop.  Too bad you will have to clutter it up with benches and tools.    My little shop is just off the dining room.  It is a converted porch. Very nice for small lathes, milling machines and hand work.  Problem is the heat comes from the main house so I need to keep the door open to heat the shop.   This means no sanding or dust making allowed.    I have to go out into the garage for that and right now it is about 30F out there.  I am looking at purchasing a dust collector of the filter type made for wood carving and sanding.  The one I am looking at sets on you lap with the filter between your legs.  This gives you a table to work on. Am thinking i can also take it into the house for carving while watching TV.

Hi Paddleducks,

i have now allready moved in to my new work shop , only a bit of tiding up but i have started to work on my project of a much altered Graupner Glasgow. I hope to complete it for the Paddlerday 2009

       It is looking good. Liked the Runrig graphic on the cupboard door.  Noticed a small white paddler on the top shelf.  What is it?

Hi Robert,

you are right there is on little paddler, this is the model "Loreley" from Krick, the only thing i have to do is to fit a suitable engine because the one in the model is rubish.

It looks  to be a great place for your workshop.I think a little more cleaning hours and it will be clean.As an advice also try to organize your stuff to make it more good.

I am new to this web site. But an old modeler. I live in a flat fortunately the ground floor with a cellar, two rooms 14+14 & 10+7, and the boiler so its lovely and warm. The boss bangs on the floor when it's feed time.
