Hello from Austria!
« on: October 17, 2008, 06:27:34 AM »
I'm 36 years of age, and was an active model boat builder between about age 6 to 14.
Then the flying virus got the better of me, and I started building planes.
When I went to study at university, I got the chance to learn soaring (the real thing).
This wonderful Hobby occupied me for the rest of my life up to now.

But with two little children, soaring is not very family-friendly. As my son (5) is interested in paddleships, I decided, that I should go along with him, so this is why I'm here.

Be prepared for my silly questions.......

Greetings, Chri

Welcome to Paddleducks Chri....

There are lots of people on the website who will be only too happy to help you with any questions you may have - Always remember, the only silly question is the one you didn't ask!

Hello Chri,

As Eddy has already said -- Welcome. I would like to add that my wife and I, had two holidays in Austria in the 1980's (before the family, now grown up, arrived). What a lovely country it is too. We visited St Wolfgang (twice), Mayrhofen, Soll, St Johann, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Vienna and other places.

Whilst in St Wolfgang, we sailed on the 'Kaiser Franz Josef 1' paddle steamer, to St Gilgen on the other side of the Wolfgangsee. I don't like the recent modifications which have returned her to look as originally built. I did like the more modern look following her conversion to diesel in 1954.

Do keep us up to date with any Austrian Paddle Boat news.

Tony

Hi Chri,

also a very warm welcome from Switzerland, and as I'd like to say "There is no silly question, but only silly answers"

I hope you enjoy your time here at Paddleducks.
