A nice set of photos Andy, the paddlewheels are the one bit that is notoriously difficult to find decent images of - Let's face it, when the ship is alongside you can't see them!

The images of the Waverleys wheels your thinking of are in our Downloads section, built by Robert McLuskie....

http://www.paddleducks.co.uk/smf/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=274

And there are also a good set of drawings for the Waverleys wheels, again thanks to Robert McLuskie...

There were at least three paddlers at the display on-board the Maid, Talisman, Waverly and what I took to be an Admiralty tug. Barbarian to the last I liked the motorised duck with swivelling head and loud quacks. Couple of really nice sailing vessels. A really good display by the Knightswood club so well done lads.

The composite picture below shows the content of my album on Photobucket. Not all relevant to PD but maybe so in that the event was hosted on the Maid. A good combination I thought especially on a Bank Holiday weekend.

Nice pictures, some good 'weathering' there  ;)

Did everyone notice how the 'inner rim' of the rimless paddlewheels is not in fact circular? just an observation should I ever decide to build a set.... ::)

Yep i noticed, also Andy there is a change in angle on the outer rim going out to the paddle float bearings - hellish to draw :)

On the Maid recently with Lachie as he eyeballed lots of detail for his model.

We were given access to some interesting bits and pieces on the quayside including the windlass and a pump. The pictures may be of interest to other modellers. Thanks Ricky. ;D

The deck is looking immaculate with fresh looking green paint.

Work on the Maid progresses. The aft staircase up to the top deck is complete and looks good.

Interesting pile of castings on quayside. Apparently damaged and unsuitable for reuse.

Opportunity for some more shots of engine room.

Thanks for the photo opportunities lads and also for the coffee and biscuits. Most welcome.

Out sailing at Lomond shores with Lachie last week and noticed that the Maid was being spruced up with some nice fresh white paint.

First snow of season on Ben Lomond last week so a perfect opportunity to post a new picture of the Lady.

Not sure if the Maid has been overun by Somali pirates or is just in supporter Halloween party dress, but she is flying a Jolly Roger on her foremast this week.

Gosh. It's been months since I last posted a pic of the Maid. Here is a fairly recent shot taken from the top of the Drumkinnon tower snatched before the squall darkening the LHS of the picture swept in to obscure everything.

Haven't been aboard for several months but she seems to be coming along well. I think however it's a bit like the Forth Rail Bridge used to be, finish painting at one end and it's time to start again at the other.
