I have a 9 inch Hercus lathe and a home made milling half finished

Hello Steven, welcome along to Paddleducks the best forum on the web for info on paddlesteamers and steam plants you could ever want. There are a multitude of plans available to download int he download section but you must have a number of posts (quite a small number) before you get full access to them. ihope this does not deter you as we all want to progress the beauty and simplicity of paddlers and their power plants.
