Hi I'm an Aussie boat builder(retired) interested in building a 20 foot side paddle wheeler. I have the American plans for the Rebel paddle wheeler but like the UK designed Minette. However, I normally build a scale model before I try the full sized one. I also have Robert Greens plans for flexible rod steam engine.

Hi Rob

Welcome to Paddleducks. I'm sure you will find any useful information that you may require on here.

If your building anything, then we would all be interested in some pictures as you go along

All the best

Thanks guys for the welcome. Especially you Jim. My dad Laurie Bruce came from the Shetlands, Isbister on Whalsay. He left there in the 1930's ( I was born in 1938). He became a skipper on the steam ferries that worked Sydney Harbour (built in Scotland of course). But the paddle wheeler ferries died out well before then.
