Hey PD's,

I've had this site bookmarked for a while now and wanted to share it with everyone, http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/altern8news/?.

There are over 500,000 different pictures of a lot of the world's current and past maritime vessels. Many (in fact , the majority) of the pictures are of current diesel powered vessels which may not be of interest to many here, but if you go to the "Ship Photos" section and click on the "Ancient Motor Vessels" section, you will have the choice of "Museum Ships" of which there are over 1400 pics and "Steam Ships (Operating and Preserved)" of which there are over 1100 pics. Many of the vessels shown in these 2 sections are paddlers which are currently in existence but don't receive much publicity. Ideal for a "unique" project.

Although each picture is different, at times there are many pictures of the same vessel, just different angles, times or photographers. The advantage to that is, you get a number of different views that make modeling the vessel easier and more accurate.

Enjoy, Randy
