hi,my name is philip,i am a retired engineer,i have been restoring british motorcycles for 35 years,i have started to build a steam lorry but have been bitten buy the model boat bug,it is the best thing i have done,i am a member of the killingworth club and a friend of macy,i have a paddle tug at the moment but wish to build a paddle steamer,will definately bee there in sept,thanks.

hi,thank you for the welcome,i think ray is right about the people in the paddleducks,this will be my first venture into building a paddle steamer,could anyone tell me which would be the best one to start with,i have a glassfibre hull 50"x9" to start with.i have the paddle tug called elorac,i bought it from a gentleman in gateshead,does anyone know anymore history of it,thank you.

Hi PHIL and welcome.Ive never heard of a paddle tug called ELORAC, but if you reverse it I think you will find it named after someone called CAROLE!!! How about a picture, maybe that will help to identify it. Regards, Walter.

hi,your right about the name,the tug had a deisel funnel when i bought it but everyone remarked it did not look right so i altered the funnel to a steam one now they reckon it looks great,i will add photos when i get the hang of trying to put them onto the computers,i wish they had mechanical ones,i would be ok with that,i think i am getting old though,thanks for your reply,see you all in sept,realy looking forward to it,

Hi Phil.  Nice to hear from you .  I was a member of Killingworth club many years ago when I lived in Garth Twenty.  I think I still have my KWSA membership card somewhere.  Do you still have access to that bastion of a clubhouse ?

hi bob,yes we still have access to the clubhouse,and a great lot of lads they are,i have only been a member for 10 months but they have made me and my best mate ray realy welcome,there is a wide range of boats get there on a wed and sunday and we realy enjoy ourselves,they are hoping a new clubhouse will be in the offing soon,many thanks for your kind reply,hope to hear from you again,regards phil.

hi,sorry i have not posted anything for a while but have3 been busy buiolding my scratchbuilt model of a paddl;e steamer at 63" long.will post photos in tha next couple of days, i am just going to start with the building of the PS TALISMAN the hull is by models by design, a cracking hull aty that.
