Hello all.

Hello all.
just starting out on the old research trail(trans atlantic paddlers).
I have been making model boats about 50 yrs now but never done a paddle steamer. The boats that I fancy having a go at are the Great Western(1837) or perhaps the Sirius also(1837).
The "clipper" type lines for me just look so sleek and at the moment none of my clubmates (Killingworth) have any of this type, although one pal has a good paddle tug.
                                       All good fun.........Cheers all.......Ray Mac. ;D

Nice to see you've joined the madhouse Ray  :nahnah

Two interesting and rarely modelled prototypes you've chosen there - It will be interesting to see how you get on. Always remember we're here to help wherever we can!

Thanks for that Eddie,
Hope I don't become too much of a pest once the questions start.
                                Cheers.......Ray.

Not likely Ray :)

Pests we can cope with....  Seriously, we're here to help whenever we can, though I don't think anyone would suggest that we have an answer for everything!!

Welcome to Valhalla Ray!You are fairly near neighbours to Sandy (Tynemouth MBC) ,Eddy bob and me are just "down the road" at Teesside. If you have been modelling for fifty years I guess you are retired. I am sure sandy wont mind you contacting him via the site and visiting him at Tynemouth club to   see his paddlers in action. In fact, if you do, let us know as well, we may as well join you both!! regards, Walter.
Blessed are the "cracked" -for they let in the light for the rest of us.

Hi Walter,
Thanks for that, and yes I would love to take you up on that offer.
Sadly at the moment I'm waiting to go into dock (Hospital) for a slight re-fit, so maybe in the near future.
By the way I was down the Tynemouth club about two weeks ago with a pal, what a fabulous club house. One of the Tynemouth chaps is laying up a Turbinia hull for my mate Phil.
It was a calm sunny afternoon so lots of the members were sailing, a good diversity of craft but I did'nt see any paddlers. Next time perhaps...........Cheers Walter.
                                                                  Ray.
