Thanks yet again to Walter Snowdon, I will be putting some new magazine articles in the Downloads section tomorrow....

This is a new magazine (to us!), and the articles date from the 1920's,30's and 40's. All come from a magazine called "Shipbuilding And Shipping Record". Apart from some articles on old favourites like Talisman, Mercury, Jupiter etc etc, there are also a couple of very unusual vessels, one of which was the Royal Yacht for the King of Egypt.

Most of them contain line drawings, as well as some of the history of the vessels....

Where does he keep finding all this stuff?? Yet again we're indebted to Walter for taking the time to locate this long forgotten material!

A beautiful vessel indeed. With my interest being triggered, I just did a little web research and found surprisingly little.
Here's a least a picture showing the king and some of the scrollwork ornating the paddlebox:

And this picture proves that she existed still in the 70ies:

This website also tells a sad story: According to http://www.georges-millet.com/egypte/louxor.htm she burned and foundered at Kom Ombo, while the Club Méd tourists, who had been travelling with her, visited the temple, claiming numerous victims amongst the crew.
