Has anyone ever built a 'TS' such as Queen Mary II and fitted a steam plant like this in it -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irp004zw8pQ
- just curious how long it would run, how much power it has etc.

One of our club members (Jake Dale) has built a model of Turbinia using a steam turbine - The model is tiny though, only about 25" long with a beam of about 1.5"
It works well, though runtimes are only about 5 minutes, but that could be purely due to it's size!

I built a large model of this Clyde steamer away back in the 1970's see
"MODEL BOATS" magazine November 1976 which I still operate on triple electric motors, but my original version featured a Stuart Turner Double Ten which of course was much too small for a hull 83" long.
This steam plant ended up in a Clyde puffer.
I have many happy memories of the "Mary" but she is much too big for me now in old age, and must go the journey.
