MODEL BOATS magzine- part 2 of Glen Rosa build.
« on: October 06, 2007, 11:24:30 PM »
The November issue of MB is out, continuing the excellent article on building PS GLEN ROSA/ALBION. Part 2 concentrates on cutting and fitting window frames in the hull and a great photo coverage of building the paddle boxes and sponsons. Another good issue of this magazine. AsModel boats are issuing another Kit Special issue at the beginning of November, we will have to wait till November 30th for Part three!. Regards, Walter.

I would imagine it takes 6-10 days to cross the pond Alex, so it should be with you shortly ;)

part 2 was in my copy, and I just got part 3 today
I like the thames tug plan too, I wanted one of those but couldn't find one in the plans list...
*edit - just to clarify, pt 2 was in novembers issue and pt 3 is in decembers.
(There was a 'yearly roundup' type issue in the shop up until yesterday - which didn't contain the paddler build - that seemed to come out between the november and december issues......but not to be confused with the regular monthly edition!)

This is a bloody outrage! I paid a bunch of money to get the October and November issues by special order to Canada just to get the Glen Rosa article and I'm still waiting for the December one which won't arrive till mid Jan. And this clown published the article verbatim with ALL the identical images on the Model Boats Website a month before I got my October copy in mid November? Somebody like to tell me what's going on please? There had better be an explanation about this before I contact the editor and demand my money back if this has been sanctioned by them.

Just bought feb's issue with the 5th (and final?) part of the article. The model on page 30 is interesting too, described as the 1883 colonial special services paddle vessel, HMS Alecto. The article doesn't say whether it's a working or static model, or what scale it's in, unfortunately....

Yes, I noticed that one as well Mick.... Very very nice, and an unusual model...
