Derek - I did exactly the same thing and replaced my old steam-driven PC the day Vista was launched  but demanded that it was supplied with XP. Shop wasn't very enthralled though! The new one is operating on Professional too. I've had one or two minor difficulties getting it to work the way the old version did but all seems well now - touch wood  :D . I use Easy Translator 4 and can't say that there has been a problem with it so far - at least with translating other web-sites from German to English. That is if you are prepared to accept the pigeon English it returns.

Hi PD's - I understand that this is not a COMPUTER forum, but a little knowledge may help our members as we ALL use PC's

re: How do I run the printer under Vista?

I purchased a new HP m8080 on 9/2/07 after assurance that it's simple...just down load new drivers....but the results were a little different

Konica Minolta 1350W laser printer = no new driver
HP810C desk jet printer = no new driver
HP3570C scanner = no new driver
Nero6 = need to purchase Nero7.7.5.1 @$199.00
CA Internet Security Suite 2007 = no VISTA support until April 07
Quickbooks 2006/2007 accounting software = no VISTA support until April 07 & @ $399.00 for the new 2007/2008 software
My 8 month old Microsoft wireless keyboard & mouse were not compatable......but a patch is offered to correct this
Belkin data transfer cable from XP to Vista @ $99.00 did not work in the advertized manner :cry:

After 4 days I returned my HP m8080 & it was replaced it with an HP m7595 running XP professional [faster processor & 300 Gb HDD]

Anyone contemplating a new PC.......just do a GOOGLE search on "VISTA & Operational Issues"   :crash

Stay away from VISTA for a long time - regards Derek

BTW... I must acknowledge that Konica Minolta on 14/2/2007 released a  :gift set of instructions to get the 1350W to work with VISTA.....you guessed it ....14 pages long  :rant
