I must assume every one got what they asked for for Christmas :clap

Or they celebrated too much for the new year  :beer  :beer  :party

Because it really seems to me it is very quiet here on Puddleducks.  What is everyone doing, any projects ready to show off? Is Sandy ready for more (teaching) steam education?  Cold (below freezing everyday), snow and freezing rain is keeping me very close to my furnace. Too cold for the electric heaters (they can't keep up) to work in my garage/ shop. Even my little back porch studio is not warm enough.

Things are looking brighter now, The sun cam out yesterday and it got above freezing. I got in a mile or so walk around the neighborhood. Also our community center got in a new tread mill and weight machine so I can now go work off some of the holiday cheer. :weight

Hope every one is ok.

Thanks for enquiring of our health Bill. All is well here in Aberdeen. As you said too cold to be out in the workshop so my ggod lady has me hard at the interior decorating. this is with a view to putting the house up for sale in the near future. Some of our Skype enabled members are aware that me and teh family are exploring the possibility of relocating to the Shetland Isles. As to the forum being quiet, if you look at the statistics over the time this forum has been operating, the trend is for a very quiet start to th eyear and as the Spring sailing season approaches . A great deal of activity and urgency appears overall and everyone is desperate to get their latest pride and joy out on the water. Hope to get some building done soon.

All the best

Jim

The beginning of the year is always a quiet time Bill - Most of us tend to have lots of family commitments over christmas and new year, and then those that work will be grabbing every extra hour of overtime they can to pay for it all!

I hope to make a start on my modelling again within the next week or so - Aweful weather with galeforce winds for weeks has put things behind schedule a bit.... This year will hopefully see three models completed for other people, so I can then spend some time concentrating on models for myself!

I still have the Firth of Forth paddle ferry "Sir William Wallace" to finish for Andrew Gray (ajg141). I have a steam yacht to complete for my fellow club member Bob Golder, and a 1:6 model of the world water speed record boat "Hustler" (powered by a 45Lbs thrust gas turbine) for someone else.

Then I have the website to run, and we're also planning a big "Paddler Day" at my local club, so I'm also involved with the organisation of that. Lots to do and not enough hours in the day!!!
