Miniature twin marine with reverse
« on: October 04, 2006, 09:05:03 AM »
Gentlemen, It's been a very long time since I visited. I don't have any paddlewheel models going at this time as I am busy with my artwork and other things. I don't think I have posted this in the past but excuse me if I did. This was a miniature twin launch that I built a few years back. It was scaled off of my Stuart twin launch. It runs quite nicely in both forward and back.

A true work of art George, and so nice to hear from you again...

I really wish I could get to grips with working with metal, but sadly we just don't seem to get on - Give me wood any day! :)

Thanks Eddy, it's good to hear from you. How's the Suter coming along? I looked through most of the posts but didn't see anything on your finishing it. I have made drawings for another of the Engineer Corps boats of that era but haven't gotten around to starting on it. "Too many hobbies, so little time" LOL.

Yeah, that's the problem George - Too little time!

Had a few problems at home to deal with over the last year - My wifes epilepsy, and my Dad has been in hospital 4 times with heart attacks. Add to that the fact that I have four models to build for other people, and Suter has had to take a back seat :(

It's about three quarters built, so hopefully I'll get it finished and on the water next year with any luck!

Hi Bill, it's good to hear from you. Thanks for the concern. Everything is great with me. I have done some machining in the last year but not to the extent that I used to. It's not that I have lost interest but I got back into doing my artwork after many years absence and just can't find the time to do everthing. I had attended a steam show the past month and they had alot of traction engines there. I thought it would be interesting to build another engine but it seems the only one that there are drawings or material for is a Case so I have spoken with several people about taking photos and dimensions off of their Russell engine. I am in the process of setting something up now. Once I compile the information I would then make a complete set of AutoCad drawings and down the road I would make the patterns and coreboxes for the castings. I have taken all of my hand drawn drawings for engines and other things and redrawn them all in AutoCad so you see why I haven't been around much. If you like you can visit my Photobucket account and see some of my artwork.
