Hi Guys,
Just found this site by accident but hopefully will find the wealth of knowledge here invaluable. I', about 12 months into scratch building a sternwheeler using Alan Bates book as a reference and as many photo's and web pictures as I can find. Work in progress but it is 47" in length, 11.5" beam and weighs in at about 32lbs. I have had to make the hull out of scale, about 2" too deep, but this has allowed me to fit enough batteries to give great sailing time and sufficient ballast (I hope) for when the superstructure is fitted. When I find the time, and if anyone wants a look, then I will post some photo's.
Hope to learn lots and teach a little.
Happy sailing
Ian

Great to have you with us Ian, I hope you'll find our little group useful... Certainly post some pics of your model, a picture is worth a thousand words! And lets face it, we ALL love paddlers, and I for one thoroughly enjoy watching someone elses build - We can always learn from the way others do things.

Finally, we're here to help, so if you need any help just fire your questions onto the forum....

Hi Joe,
It is very loosely based upon the City of Monroe, a parial set of plans I acquired along the way.

Hi there and a welcome to you from me. Its nice to hear from new members. As Eddy says, keep us posted and dont hesitate to ask for help or advice. We are all on a learning curve!
\incidentaly on another tack- You arent a fan of the 1960s radio show ROUND THE HORN are you? Your Handle MOLESTRANGLER was used as a surname by the late great Kenneth Williams for one of his comic characters!!! ( I am also a fanatic for old steam radio comedy from the 1950/60s!)  regards, Walter.
Blessed are the "cracked" -for they let in the light for the rest of us.

Hi Walter,
Thanks for the welcome. My handle has nothing to do with Round The horn, never knew that Kenneth Williams used that name. It stems from many years ago when I rallied and raced cars, my navigator was known as The Sootjuggler and I became The Molestrangler, don't really know why to this day.
