Hi PD's - Stu - is this the Saito T-3DR :?: - I understand their engines are top class but their boiler packages a little primative - like still producing the same marked range from 20 years back -  :idea: if the engine has not been used, the importer may consider swapping for a nominal sum of $ for one of those Y-2DR horizontal units :?:

Take some time & check out the Steam Engine links in our PD's links page - there is also some mighty interesting reading  :   in this Live Steam PD folder - building a paddler with real steam as the motive force certainly be time consuming especially when we have VERY limited spare time - I am a classic example, being some five years down the track & no sign of a maiden voyage yet - but it is still great fun & the PD forum always helps - Derek

This does seem to be a Saito T3DR as Derek says and he is right about the Saito boilers being a little small and flimsy and their burners are terrible to use. On both my V4 and T2 Saito's I am using different boilers and propane burners. Stu, I have sent you a PM re the engine, cheers, Ian.

Hi PD’s – Ian – don’t keep your thoughts to a limited few, if you have any comments on alternate ideas on GAS fired boilers or the like please share your thoughts or comments with the forum – after all that is the only way we all learn – regards Derek

No secrets Derek, I just told Stu that if he ever wants to part with it I would be the first to stick up my hand and give him enough body parts to make me incapable of operating more than two channels. The only item I would give more for was the afforementioned Saito paddler engine. Cheers, Ian.
