Hi Ky,

Nice to see you've joined our little band :-)

I used to have a model of the Creole Queen, though I have to admit I bought it as un unfinished project, so the hull was built when I got it, so I only had the superstructure to build.

As with most Dumas kits I found the quality of the wood supplied was poor, so I used it as templates to make my own parts from good quality marine ply etc.

Apart from that I didn't find any particular problems building the model, it all went together fairly easily, and it sailed like a dream.

Hey, nice to have a fellow Blugrasser on board. I don't know of any shows in KY. There's a club in Cincinnatti that usually puts on a showing at tall stacks.

I'm a member of the St. Louis Admirals and they put on a show the third weekend of September each year. There's the towboat festival in Grafton, IL June 24 & 25. The club will be showing there. The Toledo boat show is July 15 & 16. Sometimes the club puts on a fun run in Paducah. I haven't heard any date on it yet.

I tried to get a club going in the Ashland area back in "95, but only one other person seemed interested. As you know around here the big r/c thing is cars and planes. What area are you from

I have to be in Lexington tomorrow and next Thursday. I usually make one to three trips there a month. It's a two hour drive from here. Maybe we can hook up one of these days.
