CURIOUS BRITISH PADDLE WARSHIP.

While browsing an early thirties magazine I came across an article which described a large British sidewheel warship  which boasted four large funnels side by side, two paralel before the paddle boxes and two more side by side aft, looking like a large four poster bed! I have drawn a blank in my search for its identity, can anyonr help? Cheers, Walter.

I think you are referring to the Royal Navy First Class Frigate "Terrible" launched in 1845 at Deptford.  With a displacement of 3189 tonnes she was the largest and most powerful paddle warship in the Royal Navy.   Around 1850 two of her four boilers and  two of her funnels were removed.
