LoyalHanna Dockyard newsletter
« on: February 04, 2006, 07:31:26 AM »
It looks like LoyalHanna could be adding even more paddler plans to their range - The latest newsletter says they are adding Civil War plans which must include paddlers surely? Certainly well worth keeping an eye on their website for the new additions...

My thanks To Bruce Thomas of SSMANA for the heads-up with this potentially exciting news!

Subject: LOYALHANNA DOCKYARD NEWSLETTER - 1

JANUARY - 2006

ARTICLE OF THE MONTH

This months article is on the differences between Complete Kits, Semi-Kits and Hull-Plans.(The Article is in 'Word' Format and can be safely downloaded by any Office Program)

NEW PRODUCTS:

There are many new releases to update you on this month.  The past four weeks have been very busy with respect to our "Plans" offerings.  We have found several new sources which are being added to the website and catalog.  We have just expanded our listings of Civil War Era Plans with dozens of plans which were previously only available through the national archives.  For those with an interest in this subject, we have links on our mainpage of the website helping you to find them fast.  We have also added a large selection of Spanish American War Era Plans.  Also listed on the website.  To find these plans easily, use the Alphabetical Listing where we have put the War Era next to each Plan of these wars.

For those interested in WW II Japanese Warships we have located a source of very detailed and accurate plans for these ships.  There are about 50 plans in this series and will be listed in the upcoming weeks.  Additionally, we have spent a great deal of time locating various German sources of plans with promising results.  We are still working out the pricing and other details but will soon be able to list these new sources.  The most interesting discoveries are many various sets of shipyard plans from WW II.  We have in stock a set of plans for a type IX-C sub from this series and they are impressive to say the least.  Also, watch for an expansion of modern cruise ships which will also be added to the website in the upcoming weeks.

We have added a new line of Books focusing on various ship designs of the US Navy.  Many of the designs covered date back to the early 1900's.  To view these books they are now listed on the website and will be added to the next release of the Plans Catalog.

Another new line is a large series of various electronics.  These include various engine sounds, horn & siren sounds, gunfire sounds, voltage regulators, turret control units and a very unique smoke unit.  The smoke unit is unique in that instead of running on the various petroleum  distilates that other units use, this one vaporizes water (and puts out one heck of a cloud too).  The three obvious advantages are:  no cost for smoke fluid, no sticky mess to clean off the model and the water can actually be colored in order to create black smoke   (or any other color for that matter).  I will give further details in the next newsletter and keep checking the Loyalhanna Dockyard Website for these new additions.

ADDITIONS:

We will also be offering a line of wood ship kits produced in Sweden.  It i s aselection of commercial kits from around the world, as well as one of the ships still being in operation on a lake outside of Toronto, Canada.  We will have pictures, pricing and information on the website shortly.

Also, look for a number of new fiberglass hulls with cnc milled styrene superstructure sets of the same modern cruise ships as the plans mentioned above.  We will also have a number of German Harbor Craft and Warships.  We are working on shipping and customs details now and will be releasing this line shortly.

WEBSITE(S) CLEANED UP:

With all of the updates to the websites over the past month, alot of broken links and mistakes were also fixed.  With 10's of thousands of files amongst two websites, it is impossible to prevent files from crossing and links from failing to work, so please let me

know if you encounter a problem with either site.  Thanks.  Renee@loyalhannadockyard.com

DON'T FORGET MAINTENANCE:

For those with operational models stock on a shelf, due to the winter weather, this would be a good time to charge your batteries.  This will carry them through spring and the start of a new season.

CUSTOMER REQUESTS:

In response to customer's requests, we have created additional super glue specials.  We can also make customized combinations if you wish.  Just let us know what you need.

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Please don't forget Gift Certificates are available for Loyalhanna Dockyard/Taubman Plans.  Purchase any amount(s) you need for a great gift.

TRADE SHOWS

For those near White Plains, we look forward to seeing you at the WRAM Show.

The dates are:  Februrary 24, 25, 26.   For additional information:  Visit:  WRAM SHOW

I forgot to add - LoyalHanna Dockyards website can be found at: http://www.loyalhannadockyard.com/

It's not the easiest website to find your way around, but it's worth taking the time to get used to it as there are all sorts of goodies hidden away on their site.
