She had two sister ships - the El Nasir and the El Zafir. The attached picture is of a model built by Bill Ellis - from photographs. Bill is a local historian from Wivenhoe and built the model primarily as a memento of the local shipbuilding industry. I have spoken to him . He was very helpful but he has no plans.-------------------- m2f --------------------Exported by Paddleducks Mail System.http://www.paddleducks.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=10444#10444-------------------- m2f --------------------

The 1885 expedition was to relieve Khartoum and rescue Gordon. I think this expedition was commanded by Sir Garnet Wolseley (although Kitchener may have beeen part of it). Kitchener's expedition, to recapture the Sudan, was in 1895.-------------------- m2f --------------------Exported by Paddleducks Mail System.http://www.paddleducks.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=10454#10454-------------------- m2f --------------------
