That's interesting, Cleddau Queen might be a good beginners model to base on the 'Tipstaff' hull....
....I'm wondering what a 'double expansion' engine is? did he mean triple expansion, compound twin.....or is it something else?....

Good point Mick - The "Tipstaff" would be ideal for conversion....

A double expansion engine is exactly that, an engine with a high and low pressure cylinder to make more efficient use of the steam - Just like a triple expansion engine really but it's missing the intermediate cylinder...

Normally just known as a Compound    Engine
