Hi Mick, Alistair
.
Finaly a model for me to look at how did you find it Mick.
Came across this articale & photograph while I was brousing found it in the Symington family tree.
On exhibition is the oldest authentic model of the Charlotte Dundas, constructed by Andrew Symington (1803-1878), son of the inventor; also a lithograph of William Symington, framed in wood from the Charlotte Dundas and a copy of the 1862 Biography by J. and W.H.Rankine. Rankine descendants in Melbourne still hold the Rankine model of the Charlotte Dundas which was exhibited in Paris in 1889 and from which the model in the Science Museum, South Kensington, was copied.
On display also are original drawings by William Symington which represent the Charlotte Dundas and his Dalswinton experiment. Dated 1828, these drawings were intended to accompany a submission to Parliament"
