I wonder if you may be able to provide a little insight for me. I've
noticed an indistinctly reproduced feature on one of the drawings of
Reliant which appears to have no other details associated with it.
I've looked long and hard at your Old Trafford and at the photos of
Reliant in the Neptune Hall display but I haven't been able to make
out enough detail to know exactly what I'm looking at.
The rectangular feature I'm refering to is located on the engine
casing between the funnel base and the back wall of the engine room,
and centred between the two cowl ventilator bases. From what I can
see it appears to be a flattish feature with a slightly raised
surround.
Is this a glazed skylight? Or perhaps a rectangular metal scuttle or
access hatch? Or is it something else again?
And does it have any associated fittings - hinges, handles, etc?
Any light that you can shed on this?
Muchas gracias agradecidas.
