Paddlewheels

Hi all, Been a bit quiet for a while designing a set of feathering brass paddle wheels for 1:48 / 1:32 craft. It has taken longer than I had reconed as I tried several designs which would suit a large number of craft. Hopefully by the end of the month I will have a set made up and working. The design has an outer rim which means that it covers most paddlers but this can be removed to make the set for Waverley. Diameter of outer rim. 106mm . Floats can be from 50mm - 70mm wide, and 20mm deep. I will try and post details soon but the costs of the kit including centre boss ,stainless steel bolts & nuts ,and timber for the floats should come on the market for about £75. may sound a lot, but think of the effort required to make them by hand!!

The Ausi pals have not been left out, I am making Adelaide's wheels next. And to Paul, yes they will do for the AID.

Great news Mike, well done!

Is there any chance of producing a wheel (or range of wheels)
suitable for sternwheelers? Okay the market isn't as big as for
sidewheelers, but you also have NO competition at all (at least to my
knowledge)!

Surprisingly, or maybe not after the above comment, one of my next
projects will be a model of the sternwheel towboat "Suter" (photos of
George Britnells model are on here).
