Yes, Bert these were some of our most famous BC Coastal sidewheelers,
These were all fine looking ships (well maybe not the Beaver!). Add
to the list my own favourites... "Princess Louise" (Ex "Olympia") CP
Navigation's first large purchase, the lovely little "Maude"
and "Eliza Anderson" veteran of half a century..all ships screaming
out to be modeled. Let's not also forget CPN's Coastal fleet of
sternwheelers "R. P. Rithet", "Gertrude," "Reliance," "Western Slope"
and the "William Irving" which when you look at them were not very
different to their lake and river sisters. It beats me how these
sternwheelers could have weathered the storms and seas of the Straits
here, let alone sorties out into the Pacific.
I was fascinated to hear of how your interest in modeling paddlers
started and how your Dad inspired you to build a fleet of models
which truly capture a very important era of our Province's pioneer
history.

I had a chat with Bob (Turner) this morning and he was most
complimentary about you and your models. I have his two books which
feature information on B.C. paddlewheelers and I have just received a
copy of his book "The Skyline Limited" to add to my library!

One of my ambitions in 2003, is to visit "Moyie". Now theres an added
reason...to see your splendid collection of CP inland ships. The
same invitation is extended to you when you visit Victoria. By the
way have you made any drawings or know of any plans of the CP Tugs?
Once again, I'm so pleased you have found your way to our forum and
look forward to more updates as time (and inclination) permits.
