Hi all,
I chose 'CadetKit' as my user name because my name is Kit (Christopher) and I am training as an Officer Cadet at the William Booth College for Officer Training for The Salvation Army, based in South London.
I have decided to dive in the deep end and fulfill an ambition of my late father's, to build an RC model of the famous PS Waverley. I travelled from Clacton to London on the Waverley and fell in love with it.
Other than a lot of build tips and technique advice I need to know some very basic things about motor units, gearing, and where is best to look for build materials and any specialist accessories I'm going to need.
My first toe in the water has been to order a pre formed hull and scaled plans from Mountfleet models, as I'm not brave enough to start completely from scratch. The hull and plans should be with me in about 4 weeks, so if you see this post please say hi, and if you have any tips before I start out, then please give me a shout. Where to start first would be really helpful!
I look forward to getting to know you all,
Many thanks,
Kit
