Klunk......an Introduction
« on: July 03, 2017, 12:40:30 AM »
Well.......been on the Mayhem site for many a year........always had an interest in paddle wheelers. Owned a Glasgow and never forgave myself for swapping her (swapped for a Sydney Star part started). I have over 125 boats, 6 yachts and 4 subs.......and now a proud owner of a Director Class tug.
Have just finished refurbing her. She runs on 2 x 380 geared motors, 1 x esc. She is equipped with 2 fire hydrants which can be made to work ( some point in the future!). At present she operates with micro switches to help turn her....half rudder the relevant paddle wheel stops.......full rudder the relevant paddle wheel goes into reverse. Had her maiden today after refurb. First time she has been on the water for 20 years. Sailed wonderfully.  Very stable even with the wheels going in different directions......but if your going too fast she does wobble!

Welcome to PD's klunk  .........[always good to have fellow MBM members :gathering here]

We have a few Director Class tugs on the books....what scale is she?......it is remotely possible that we have seen her under the previous ownership

When you get to your sea/basin/creek or pond trials....why not show some snaps or video?

Will she show at the next MBM Wicksteed weekend?
