introductions

Hi my name is Tim and I am new to the forum I live in Huddersfield ,West Yorkshire .I  have always had an interest in the building of a live steam boat / launch. I have spent most of my modelling time on R/C aircraft but I think that it does no harm to have broad interests and take on projects that will widen my skills . I started out life as a apprentice  Tool room miller some 36 years ago but changed career to the electrical engineering side shortly after completion of my apprenticeship ,so the prospect of machining and building of a steam plant will hopefully refresh some long forgotten skills. and gain some I never had .
The forum will I hope allow me to pick up on the info and tips gained by the experience of others in tackling similar projects I am not yet sure about the design of launch yet but intend it to be R/C so possibly in the 50" range ? and slide valve ?
