Heyyyy Adrian..not so fast, buddy!....you hardly told us anything
about this exquisite sounding little paddler of yours...just enough
to really tease us!!!

A 10" WORKING model of a paddler!!!??? do tell more..is she a
straight runner or can you R/C her? Scale ? I for one would love to
hear what power plant you've used and how you've overcome weight and
stability issues and well....ANYTHING ELSE you can tell us. Any
chance of some photos?

The paddlewheel rotation of 70 rpm sounds prototypically correct, but
I'm interested how this speed also works for the model..have you
oversized the paddle floats? In any case, do please post some more
info on "Endeavour" when you get a moment, as I think a lot of our
members would be interested in MINI-paddlers.... 10" ??? wow!! that
IS a challenge!

A very hearty welcome to you from us all, Adrian...always love to
hear from UK paddler enthusiasts and perhaps you can show us how to
build mini paddlers! I must say I'd eventually LOVE to build a mini
for our Club display pool. A miniature paddle TUG would be perfect
and I just picked up the PERFECT motors for one, right out of a kid's
Sony CD Walkman in the garbage!!! (there were TWO lovely little flat
profile low current, slow rev motors inside which I saved..and even a
Dolly Parton CD...which I did NOT rescue!)

Best regards

...and thanks for the interest in Endeavour.I have the model in front
of me now so here are some vital statistics.Length 12 inches[sorry
think I said 10]Beam 2inches.{hull}Max beam over paddleboxes
4inches.Paddle diameter 1 7/16 inch approx.Power small electric motor
from model car driving through a double reduction gearbox
{pinion/crown then ordinary reduction gear.} Powered by 1 AA
battery.Stability as always has been a problem but model has been
super detailed and displayed in a recent Model Engineering exhibition
so at the moment is static. Photos hopefully following soon-get my
son on to that one as he is better at scanning and doing these
things. I just build. Think he might be joining soon too.
Regards and happy paddling! Ady.
