Here is a rare chance to cruise on a little-known NZ river.

Mon.28.10.13: RES charter of steam tug 'William C Daldy' to escort the departure of the tall-ship fleet from Auckland, including a full naval gun salute off Orakei Wharf.
One boat expected there, not on the Melbourne visit, is 'Picton Castle', from Canada.

This one is also offering sailing-adventure voyages while in the region.

The fleet is arriving in Melbourne today & tomorrow, and has a range of open days and demonstration cruises through the week.  I have booked for a ferry cruise (MV 'Lady Cutler'  to follow the departure from Melbourne on Sat.14.9.

The Dargaville trip has happened.  The boat must run regular cruises, but perhaps this tour went beyond the normal territory?

This boat was built in the 1980s, to a much older style.  It was SL 'James Torrey', and operated on Lake Tarawera (near Rotorua).
About 10 years ago, it was sold, renamed 'Duke of Marlborough', and was relocated to Picton.  It runs harbour cruises.
