Hi Paddleduckers,
I have been missing from Paddleduckers for about 3 years - manged to retire, sell up and moved to Scarborough By The Sea. Unfortunately, part of the retirement process was a severe downsizing of house and contents which meant most of the boats I had were sold off and I lost my lovely workshop

Anyway after strenuous efforts in the attic I have finally made enough space to begin modelling again so I shall be using you guys to get the lowdown on what's best and what's worse in the boating world.
Previous builds have been: Trent class lifeboat, Krick Alexander steamer (steam driven) and Glasgow Tug, all sadly moved on to new berths.
I am considering a couple of new projects: either another go at the Glasgow which I greatly enjoyed or the Vosper P150 by Nautical Marine. Looking at the Glasgow I was shocked to see the price increases since I built mine - kit has gone up by nearly £60 and the fittings kit has doubled in price along with the Graupner Paddle Wheel set and that still leaves the motor, ESC and other bits. As a pensioner now the Glasgow is looking out of my price range. The Vosper is not much cheaper but does come with most of the fittings. Anybody know where I can get either of these kits at a better price?
The other item I've got to buy is the RC and I will probably go for 2.4G. Again, I'll have to go for a budget set such as Spectrum but I've al;so looked at the gear sold by Giant Shark who are selling 2 channel set for £30 but are they any good. Has anybody had experience of their gear - good or bad?
