Hello from the River Rhine
«

Hello Paddleducks,
my name is Holger and i live between Bonn and Cologne on the River Rhine.
Im interrested in local history (especilally the history of ships on the River) and modelling.
With a view on international Paddlesteamers i hope to learn more about that
noble part of navigation.
I also plan to crate a Model of the Caledonia (1817 Boulton and Watt) and hope to find
here more information about that Pioneer of steamboating.
My Nick is also the Name of my Boat. Its no Paddlesteamer but it is an
Oldtimer that i restorate at the moment. It is 1978 Plaue.
The first Picture shows the Boat before restauration.
The second one is during the restauration.
Many greetings from Germany
Rheintrutz (Holger)

Hi Holger,
Welcome to Paddleducks. Nice little runabout you have there, and will follow your posts as they seem to parallel mine, in that I also have an interest in my local river and its old historic boats, many of them paddle steamers. My river is the Waikato, from Cambridge down to Port Waikato

Thank You.
I must confess I had to look after the Waikato River in Google.
But the Stream looks very nice. I watched Pictures on Google Maps,
and some pictures are very similar to the Rhine. I can understand that you like it

Welcome Holger,
My current paddler is not from my home river- but I do have one in process and on hold - The first sternwheeler that paddled the upper reaches of the Columbia River near Revelstoke on Upper Arrow Lakes in NW Canada.
I live in Portland Oregon on the confluence of the Columbia and The Willamette
We look forward to your contributions
