Hi from Nevada
« on: September 12, 2011, 05:21:54 AM »
I have an interest in western riverboats, mainly the S.S. Klondike, S.S. Tutshi, and the S.S. Keno.   I am in the process of gathering plans/information on these three boats, mainly the S.S. Klondike in hopes of building a live steam model it.   I have had the opportunity to visit the S.S. Klondike twice and have been marveled by its history, design and restoration.  I have also had the opportunity to see the S.S. Tutshi before and after the devastating fire that destroyed her.
I look forward to being a member and being able to share and learn with other members.

Welcome to Paddleducks.... Maybe you could post some photos of the boats you mentioned for those of us that don't know them?

Regards
Eddy

I was on board the Klondike last week, and spent about 45 minutes photographing the engine room.

Here are two exterior pictures.

I have not yet put the rest of them online, but when I do, they will be here:

A question for the original poster, do you have a copy of the poster that they sell at the Klondike Visitor center?  It is a line drawing of the exterior, plus lines for the hull.  The girl at the counter told me that at least one person had built a model using those basic plans.

Welcome to you- I live in Portland Oregon- so same coast as you I think--It looks as though you live in Alaska or Western Canada? The Klondike looks splendid!

I am a newB to Paddlers myself but I love live steam---I do have a sternwheeler underway with a Cheddar power plant ..The SS Dispatch from the Arrow Lakes region of BC ( gold rush days)

I am stalled for now as work has me buried,...but winter always brings hope of shop time ;D

I doubt  I can be of help but if so let me know!!
