Hi All!  Just joined this illustrious group of steamboaters, paddle wheelers, et al.  I'm a model railroader building (planning at this stage) a railway in British Columbia that services the steamboats that plied the lakes in south eastern B.C.  As a part of my modeling, I'll be building a replica paddlewheeler and at least a couple of tugs, and car floats.  I was looking through an old Railroad Model Craftsman magazine tonight and came upon an advertisement for THE WESTERN RIVERS STEAMBOAT CYCLOPOEDIUM by Alan Bates.  I'd like to purchase this work so I checked Amazon.......wowsers!  $189 and change!

At any rate I already have the technical drawings for a 140 foot sternwheeler and will be working from those plans.  Just saying 'hello' to you all.  Glad to be here.

Cheers!

Welcome to Paddleducks, good to have you with us!

We have quite a few members from the USA, so I'm sure any questions you have can be answered.... Some photos of the boat you plan to build, and some of it's construction once you get started would be nice...

Regards
Eddy

They have it for $20 US plus postage.

Thanks for the welcome, fellas.  Will happily do the photo thing once I get started on the boat.  It won't be for a few months yet.  My daughter is moving out in a month or so and that will become my modeling room so there's a way to go yet......will keep you posted.

I sent an email to the Howard Steamboat Museum, thank you very much for the tip.
