Hello fellow forum members!
I have been researching scale model steam engines and will be building an RC scale model vehicle.
I work in the solar thermal manufacturing business and have also installed full-size boilers in my past 33 years of experience, but always find myself learning new things everyday.
I have been designing a Vintage Jules Verne type of amphibious vehicle with rotating screw-type pontoons for propulsion. Each pontoon will be driven by a separate steam engine with a toothed belt pulley drive system.
This type of propulsion can move the vehicle forwards/reverse/sideways and can pivot turn on a dime.
It can drive on snow, mud, pavement and water. It maneuvers similar to a military tank over rough terrain.
I have been looking at the Saito 3DTR engines and the MACCSTEAM boilers. Any constructive advice is very much welcome.
I will try to post some images of the screw-drive systems on different types of vehicles.
Kind Regards,
Giovanni
