steel servo rods
« on: July 21, 2010, 06:57:01 AM »
Hi all,
A question regarding servo/rudder linkages. Those 2mm steel rods seem popular, they are threaded one end to accept ball couplings or the like.
What is best to do at the unthreaded end? I have seen a kind of "z" bend in the rod fed through hole in servo arm, but I have heard that method can cause binding. Seemingly there is a fitting for the unthreaded end but haven't found it yet ::)
I was thinking lengths of threaded rod (2mm)would allow a screw on coupling at either end??
cheers
Clark

You can get threaded couplings that solder onto the control rods Clarke.... Try this link: http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=24713

Clark,
I have some M2 full threaded rod left over from my Talisman wheel build and some ball link connectors available.
I am sure i have some connections for the unthreaded end in a box somewhere.
If that would be of any use  PM me your address and i will get them over to you... I don't need them any more.
Regards
Kim
